LUFAMAX1800 vs. LUFAESPRO3000: Budget Panel or 6-Wavelength Upgrade?

If the LUFAMAX4800 and LUFAESPRO3000 comparison already on our blog left you wondering about a lighter entry point, this one's for you: the LUFAMAX1800 and the LUFAESPRO3000 sit at very different points in Lufalight's full-body lineup — one is an accessible upper-body panel, the other a six-wavelength panel built for a wider range of protocols. Here's an honest look at where each one actually fits.

The headline difference: wavelength range and price tier

The LUFAMAX1800 runs 1,800W through 360 high-density LEDs at two wavelengths — 660nm red and 850nm near-infrared — rated at ≥165 mW/cm² irradiance, covering 91 × 41.2cm (roughly full upper-body) in a 15 kg aluminum-housed panel. It's priced at CA$1,651 (sale) / CA$1,942 (list) and carries Lufalight's 3-Year Warranty.

The LUFAESPRO3000 runs 3,000W through 600 dual-chip LEDs across six wavelengths — 630, 660, 810, 830, 850, and a 1060nm deep near-infrared channel — rated at ≥180 mW/cm² irradiance, in an 18.5 kg panel measuring 130.6 × 33cm. It's priced at CA$4,504 (sale) / CA$5,299 (list), also with a 3-Year Warranty.

So this isn't really a close call on specs — it's a genuine budget-vs-premium decision. The LUFAMAX1800 covers two of the most commonly used wavelengths at a lower price point and a smaller footprint; the LUFAESPRO3000 adds four more wavelengths (including the 1060nm channel), a larger panel, and roughly triple the wattage, at roughly triple the price.

Who the LUFAMAX1800 makes sense for

If you're new to full-body panels and want to start with something more accessible than Lufalight's flagship units, the LUFAMAX1800 is built for exactly that: two well-studied wavelengths, a compact 91 × 41.2cm panel that suits an upper-body or seated session, and a price point that's a meaningfully smaller commitment than a six-wavelength unit. It's also a reasonable second panel if you already own a smaller device and want more coverage without jumping straight to the most expensive option in the lineup.

Who the LUFAESPRO3000 makes sense for

If you specifically want the wider wavelength range — particularly the 1060nm deep near-infrared channel that isn't available on smaller Lufalight panels — or you've been using a two-wavelength device for a while and want to expand what your routine covers, the LUFAESPRO3000 is the step up. It's also the more serious commitment: higher price, larger panel, and more wattage than most home users strictly need for a basic routine.

What both panels have in common

Regardless of budget or wavelength preference, both the LUFAMAX1800 and LUFAESPRO3000 are built to the same certification standard as the rest of the Lufalight line: they're FDA-registered general wellness devices, produced under MDSAP and ISO 13485 quality management systems, with Health Canada MDL listing applicable for the Canadian market. Both carry Lufalight's 3-Year Warranty. Neither panel is a medical device, and neither is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

If you're not sure a full-body panel is the right starting point at all, our beginner's guide to starting a red light therapy routine walks through smaller entry points first. And if you want the full picture on how near-infrared and red wavelengths actually work, see our infrared light explainer.

Safety note: Both devices are general wellness products, not medical treatments. Follow included eye-protection guidance, avoid use during pregnancy or while on photosensitizing medication without consulting a doctor, and discontinue use and see a healthcare provider if you notice any adverse skin reaction. Individual results vary and are not guaranteed.
